J. Earl Burke, born in 1967, is a native of Riney County, Kentucky. After the tragedy that befell the county in the summer of 1986, he joined the Navy, to get as far away from dry land as possible. His stint in the Navy ended when he was replaced by a computer that he helped program in his spare time that’s now worth like a billion dollars to some defense contractor. After that, he got his self a degree or two, actually three, one of which is a Master’s no less. In Earl’s spare time, he writes recollections of Riney County, works on his Pontiac Fiero, and jabbers on this here blog.
